Where the models meet real speakers

The Lab is not research for its own sake. Two products are in people's hands today, and they are where the models get tested against how people actually speak.

Where it matters

Three places where language decides who gets served

In each of these, voice is not a nicer interface on top of an existing service. It is the difference between a service someone can use and one they cannot. Education is where we are today. Finance and health are where we are heading.

Live

Education

Learning a language you grew up hearing but were never taught to read, by hearing it spoken properly.

Who we work with
Learners and diaspora communities, directly
Why voice
Tone and pronunciation are not things you can pick up from a written word list. They have to be heard.
Piloting

Finance

Banking and money services that answer in the language the customer actually banks in.

Who we work with
Banks, telcos, insurers and micro-lenders
Why voice
Mobile money is already the default rail in East Africa. Language is what decides who can reach it without help.
Exploring

Health

Triage lines and maternal-health follow-up calls conducted in a patient's home language.

Who we work with
NGOs, health ministries, insurers and health platforms
Why voice
For someone with limited literacy or no smartphone, speaking is not the convenient channel. It is the only one.

The next fifty languages get cheaper if we build this together.

Institutional pilots, speech data, and research collaboration. We are a small team in Nairobi working on infrastructure that takes years.
